Pinnacle Series

The Pinnacle Series Range is the premium label of the Ross Hill range. It is broad and ranges from aromatic cool climate white wine varieties including Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc, to the Burgundian styled Chardonnay and Pinot, and the unforgetable Big reds of Shiraz, Cabernet and Cabernet Franc which are sourced from the Ross Hill home vineyard vines on Griffin Road.

Pinnacle Series Sauvignon Blanc 2011
The Pinnacle Series represents the most outstanding parcels of wine from each vintage which best display the sub regional terroir of specific sites across the Orange district.
From the treasured home block at Griffin Road, planted in 1996, altitude 750 metres.
Low cropped fruit was whole bunch pressed and naturally fermented using wild yeasts, yielding a wine of intensity, complexity, fine texture and length.

Pinnacle Series Chardonnay 2011
The Pinnacle Series represents the most outstanding parcels of wine from
each vintage which best display the sub regional terroir of specific
sites across the Orange district.
From the treasured home block at Griffin Road, planted in 1996, altitude 750 metres. Hand picked and whole bunch pressed, juice was run straight to French oak barrels and fermented naturally by wild yeasts. Harmonious and balanced, yet with intense fruit definition this wine shows great complexity and finesse.

Pinnacle Series Pinot Gris 2010
The ‘Pinnacle Series’ represents the most outstanding parcels of wine from each vintage which best display the sub regional terroir of specific sites across the Orange district.
From a special site of perfect northerly aspect, planted in 2002, at altitude 900 metres. Fruit was whole bunch pressed and only 100% free run juice was naturally fermented using wild yeasts, yielding a wine of layered richness, fine aroma and length.

Pinnacle Series Pinot Noir 2010
The ‘Pinnacle Series’ represents the most outstanding parcels of wine
from each vintage which best display the sub regional terroir of
specific sites across the Orange district.
Fruit for this, our second Pinot, was hand picked from a mature, low yielding, high altitude vineyard then naturally fermented by wild yeasts, macerated on skins for 4 weeks and matured in 25% new French oak for 10 months. Intensely aromatic, fine boned and layered with complexity and silky texture, it is everything a cool climate Pinot Noir should be.

Pinnacle Shiraz 2009
The Pinnacle Series represents the most outstanding parcels of wine from
each vintage which best display the sub regional terroir of specific
sites across the Orange district.
The best ten barrels of our best parcels from the great 2008 vintage were hand selected to become the first Shiraz in our new Pinnacle Series. Matured at first in large old oak vats then in small French oak for a further year, this wine is powerful, aromatic and densely layered.

Pinnacle Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
The Pinnacle Series represents the most outstanding parcels of wine from
each vintage which best display the sub regional terroir of specific
sites across the Orange district.
This, the best, most concentrated cabernet of the vintage was selected from The Ridge, a small part of our Griffin Road home vineyard. Hand picked and naturally fermented by wild yeasts in small open fermenters at our brand new Wallace Lane winery, matured in small French oak for eighteen months, this wine is powerful, aromatic and densely layered, showing the capacity of the Orange region for growing multi dimensional reds of great character.

each vintage which best display the sub regional terroir of specific
sites across the Orange district.
From our amazing and unique Griffin Road site comes yet another Ross Hill Cabernet Franc with the stunning ripeness and power that only this vineyard can produce. Hand picked and naturally fermented by wild yeasts at our new Wallace Lane winery, matured in small French oak for eighteen months, this is an intensely aromatic and powerful wine which will live and improve for many years.
